What drew you to a career in fitness?
During my career as an educator and behavioral therapist I continued to have that hunger to motivate others and also challenge myself. While I continued to help others at my day job, I was spending my mornings and evenings motivating others as a fitness instructor. My passion for fitness continued and I began to take on marathon, distance running, and triathlon training. At the same time, my desire to motivate and inspire others grew. I knew how running, cycling, swimming, and simply moving, made me feel and I wanted to be able to share the mental benefits of that with others. I found myself teaching 10 classes a week at a boutique cycle studio in the Financial District while working a full-time job as a therapist. After 6 months of doing both, I took the “jump” and quit my 9-5 to transition full speed into the fitness world. Teach, help, motivate, inspire, are my true passions that I get to do everyday! It’s been 4 years and I continue to love what I do everyday!
If you were not in the fitness industry, where else could you see yourself?
I would see myself running a non-profit for underprivileged children and families in need of behavioral and mental health support with a strong focus on healthy habits and living.
Why are you excited to join the Regatta Fitness team?
I am constantly looking for the next challenge! After completing my 9th marathon, I was eager to focus on a new goal. I’m excited to tap into and become a part of the rowing world with this new fitness adventure!
