While living and working in New York during the financial crisis of 2009, Jeff regularly attended spin classes to minimize the stress of a crumbling economy. After taking his first class, he knew that he wanted to leave his long time business in interior design in pursuit of a healthier career as a full-time fitness professional. Within 6 months he was on the podium teaching spin classes, designing and leading HIIT classes, and working as an ACE certified personal trainer.
After leaving New York City in 2016, Jeff settled in Cambridge, MA with his wife and two children. In early 2018, he opened a private personal training studio in West Cambridge and now has a full schedule of personal training clients and leads several boot camps a week. His classes and sessions are challenging, upbeat, creative, and a lot of fun. Join him as he brings his passion and years of experience as a HIIT instructor together with his love of rowing to Regatta Fitness.
What drew you to a career in fitness?
In 2010, after 18 years in business, my career as an artist in interior design came to an end. During this time spin saved my soul. I took my first spin class and instantly knew I wanted to be a spin instructor. Six months later I was on the podium teaching spin classes. I was hooked.
If you were not in the fitness industry, where else could you see yourself?
If I wasn't in the fitness industry I would be either creating or cooking for a living. I love to build things, furniture mostly. That being said, I also love working with stone and building stone walls. Also, I have always wanted my own food truck!
Why are you excited to join the Regatta Fitness team?
I am excited to join Regatta Fitness because it's a great team that has created an amazing app combining two of my favorite things: Rowing and HIIT. I've utilized rowing machines in my HIIT classes for years and have always loved the combination. I am so grateful to join the team and help bring this app to life.
